circling the drain
not looking for a name
or much of anything to set our sights away
from the things in front of us
the endless list of joys and hurts and drugs
believe it was
just what it was
let it slip away
the impression that you gave
these things basically don’t matter anyway
but between the bars and past bad luck
you’ll see that it’s just moments of
simple subtle beauty
something you can touch
we meet in secret, speak in code
go to the places no one knows
where no one (where no one knows)
we’ll send our spies between the bars
overzealous as they are
and they are (oh they are)
we’ll make it quiet, make it quick
we’ll talk in circles and we’ll quit
if we don’t know where
we’re going after
we’ll have to do the best with what we got
drink and fuck - fall in love
wait it out - we’ll call their bluff
when our bodies turn to dust

Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
the evolution of citizen is almost identical to the typical depiction of human evolution. As you please strays from the previous releases while containing raw emotion. ghøstbødy
A friend with a reliably fine musical taste posted this album on FB and I wasn't disappointed. Love the guitar sound and the passionate vocals (melodic enough to not pass as screamo or whatever). Punk rock spirit yet with a lot of dynamics (definitely a yes to the Dischord reference) and compact songs that won't leave your head for a long time. Many many
great tunes on here but for the moment USMA and Lay Low have to be my favorites! Great band, very happy to have found them! perpendikel
The aptly-named Floating in Space write songs as big as the night sky, misty layers of synth dotted with rolling, elegiac piano. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2016
From L.A. comes the latest from post-rock outfit bondo, with tendrils of spindly guitar snaking through arid percussion. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 4, 2023
