no one will ever love you were the last words she said
we checked the telemetry, it constantly read:
your mind’s an abacus that just keeps track of your thoughts
and you're sick and you're sad yeah you're sad and you're lost
you're a dreary confection just the sum of your parts
only 1's and 0's reside in your heart
all your facts and calculations are sure to be wrong
you're unnatural and sick, and you won't last for long
( he said )
these plans, they got so old
found rust on my metal bones
and all of what i wrote
tried to take my temperature but the thermometer broke
and anyone ever would agree
it's a lot it's a lot like me
to welcome welcome on
a lovely lovely lack of love
she's got you turned around like a rat in a maze
susceptible to anything that rattles your cage
way deep down you know you're not what you were
you feel weak like them and your minds not as sure
and your crutches are slipping and coming apart
worn down by your sappy sullen heart
the bottles pile up with no end in sight
you're slipping up - you can't get it right
(he said)
i know - it went so quick
I can't - get back to it
I said - "no regrets"
but if it's gone forever well then i'll just drink to forget
i gave you what you want
don't you understand?
i can't get back
no I can't be him
this life has lost all of its charm
now i'm left for the ages with a human heart
I saw a bed - In the back of my head
with strange bedfellows in it
If you see it can you ask
"Meursault, did you ever have a chance?"
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
the evolution of citizen is almost identical to the typical depiction of human evolution. As you please strays from the previous releases while containing raw emotion. ghøstbødy
A friend with a reliably fine musical taste posted this album on FB and I wasn't disappointed. Love the guitar sound and the passionate vocals (melodic enough to not pass as screamo or whatever). Punk rock spirit yet with a lot of dynamics (definitely a yes to the Dischord reference) and compact songs that won't leave your head for a long time. Many many
great tunes on here but for the moment USMA and Lay Low have to be my favorites! Great band, very happy to have found them! perpendikel
The aptly-named Floating in Space write songs as big as the night sky, misty layers of synth dotted with rolling, elegiac piano. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2016
From L.A. comes the latest from post-rock outfit bondo, with tendrils of spindly guitar snaking through arid percussion. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 4, 2023
