woke up in 1923
we were brawling and free
a restless world awaking
with newfound industry
we knew our enemies
and won the first world war
we built things with our hands
it seemed worth fighting for
woke up in 2222
everything was new
a world devoid of sickness
technology came through
we look ahead to the stars now
and leave old rivalries
no there’s no need for war no more
or ancient deities
woke up in present day
it feels like a copy of a copy that won’t change
the footprints they never stay
so we’re just living today like we did yesterday
now all our hopes and all our goals
they don’t amount to much
everything we loved is lying covered in the rust
i made a case for staying
but i can’t convince myself
so back to bed and damn it all to hell
just a kid of the nuclear age
born too early or too late
tethered to another time and place
listless in my given fate
drifting through the nuclear age
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
the evolution of citizen is almost identical to the typical depiction of human evolution. As you please strays from the previous releases while containing raw emotion. ghøstbødy
A friend with a reliably fine musical taste posted this album on FB and I wasn't disappointed. Love the guitar sound and the passionate vocals (melodic enough to not pass as screamo or whatever). Punk rock spirit yet with a lot of dynamics (definitely a yes to the Dischord reference) and compact songs that won't leave your head for a long time. Many many
great tunes on here but for the moment USMA and Lay Low have to be my favorites! Great band, very happy to have found them! perpendikel
The aptly-named Floating in Space write songs as big as the night sky, misty layers of synth dotted with rolling, elegiac piano. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2016
From L.A. comes the latest from post-rock outfit bondo, with tendrils of spindly guitar snaking through arid percussion. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 4, 2023
